Can we prevent school shootings? Yes we can, there are so many ways we can prevent school shootings. There have been many investigations released on students in different universities and schools about how they think school shootings could be prevented.

An investigation released in The Alfred University in New York of students revealed that only about half of the students would alert an adult about a student wanting to shoot someone or planning to begin a school shooting.

Students, teachers, and parents have all had to deal with the reality of increasing school shootings over the last 20 years. The school year 2021-2022 saw a dramatic increase in gun incidents in schools, far more than more previous years. There were 193 instances of gunshots on the premises of K–12 schools last year. The average from previous years was 49 incidents. Meanwhile, the epidemic of gun violence in America has spread to its schools in the form of mass shootings, gun homicides, suicides, and unintentional shootings. For millions of American students, the failure to address the core causes of school gun violence from all aspects has long-term effects.

In conclusion, I believe this is a very strong matter that should be addressed and spoken more about inside schools for the safety of all students. Never be afraid to speak up if you hear something. It is better to be safe than sorry.
