OPINION - Everyone Should Plant a Pine Tree, by Cristian Vigil

Please enjoy this opinion article from DMHS's "Introduction to Journalism" class!

People should have at least one pine tree in their house or in their backyard. Having a pine tree is amazing, especially during the holidays because when it becomes that time of the year you can decorate your pine tree and have a really good and epic pine tree.

But having a pine tree isn’t just for the holidays. Having a pine tree in general is totally tubular and radical. If you have multiple, you can use the wood to make something like a shed. You can also sell it and make profit and regrow the tree. Wood is starting to become pretty expensive and having wood from growing trees can be a good source of money. If you do such a thing you won't have to worry about the product being ruined by the weather because pine trees can withstand extreme temperatures. You won’t have to worry about it unless it catches on fire. Another reason to get a tree is that the oldest tree is basically a pine tree, which is a really epic and fun fact.

Having a pine tree in your house or in your backyard is like having a painting but better, since the picture is in front of you and you can feel the picture. It also makes you profit like I was talking about earlier, also the picture can give your gifts like sap.

Sap can taste good and can be a good addition to your breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You should know before you try it that Tiffany Curtis from Livestrong.com said “Tree sap that's been boiled to kill any harmful bacteria is safe to eat and drink.” Before you start eating sap you should boil it before anything else.

Having pine trees is really aesthetic, if you want to make your backyard look like you live in the mountains, this is the tree to do so.

Cristian Vigil is a 9th grader at DMHS. Cristian hopes you all plant a pine tree.
