OPINION - Need a New Car? Buy a JDM. By Tre Williams

Next time you buy a car, buy a JDM. JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market car. JDM cars are durable and have a longer lifespan while being exposed to a demanding workplace, which is a major benefit. JDM auto parts are more durable and of higher quality than their American counterparts.

The Toyota Camry or the Honda Accord, for example, are examples of Japanese brands that are available on the foreign market, although many people think they are American-made. If a vehicle is manufactured in Japan and exported to the US, Europe, or any other nation other than Japan, it is not viewed by the public as a JDM vehicle. JDM automobiles are constructed in compliance with Japanese market norms. These cars are more fuel-efficient. To be deemed a true JDM, the car must also have a Right-Hand Drive (RHD) system. Due to this, left-handed nations like India will have old JDM vehicles on the road.

JDM cars often have a turbocharger and a smaller engine compared to muscle cars. However, unlike the speed-obsessed Americans, the Japanese created quick, lightweight cars (which can sometimes drift sideways). Drifters choose JDMs because they are so lightweight.

High demand has led to several JDM vehicles becoming expensive and in short supply.

There are several businesses that offer aftermarket parts for JDM cars. Sometimes, choosing which brand to purchase of top-of-the-line brake pads for your JDM vehicle can be really hard. Most likely, it won't matter whatever brand you use to tune your car as long as its still JDM.

JDM cars are reliable and last a long time. These cars are definitely a car that you will have for a long time.
