Bob Lazar, a human interest piece by Rowan Sanderka

Please enjoy this article from DMHS's "Introduction to Journalism" class.

Bob Lazar is an American physicist who claims to have worked at area 51. He claims to have worked in a section of the base titled S4, which contained extraterrestrial technology.

Section S4 has one of the highest levels of security at area 51 and is a 15-mile drive from the main airforce base. Bob Lazar states, “Nine interstellar spacecraft were housed at the S4 facility and have been used in a reverse engineering program for ten years prior to my introduction to the program.”

Bob Lazar was given a reference for a job at Area 51 after he put a jet engine inside his Honda. Bob states, “I think I was hired there because they needed a guy who could think outside the box.” In an interview with Joe Rogan, he goes on to state that the program he was in didn't make much progress due to its confidential nature. He does state that the technology he was working on was beyond the cutting edge of science.

According to Bob’s reports, 9 interstellar space craft are housed at the S4 facility of Area 51, all of which are powered by an element with the atomic weight of 115 called Ununpentium. Ununpentium wasn't on the periodic table until 2003, but Bob was working at the base during the 1980’s. Ununpentium does not occur naturally on Earth.

Bob describes the craft he worked on known as the “sport model” at the base that worked by creating an gravitational envelope around itself. The crafts contain three gravity amplifiers and a metal orb the size of a basketball that when turned on was similar to the feeling of pushing two magnets of the same charge together: they repel each other but instead of repelling other metal it repelled all force and matter. Bob stated that when the craft was in motion it was in its own gravitational field. He also describes that when standing under it, it could not be seen due to the gravitational envelope bending light around it.

“The craft was not made for an organism the size of us,” Bob states when describing the craft. “There were no right angles, everything was rounded, the seats were about the size as a child’s seat.” He goes on to state that when the craft is in motion the metal becomes transparent and acts as windows and a windshield. He also states that there were screens inside the craft that could become transparent and display information, but that information was not recognizable.

Bob states that he was informed that the craft came from the Zeta Reticuli, which is a large binary star system. Despite what he was told by his superiors at the base Bob does not believe that information is credible and claims that he was often given false information to test if he was a leak or not.

Bob says that he was not allowed to speak with the other employees other than his lab partner about the progress of the craft, discoveries, or other information. He does speculate that some of the craft was recovered from archaeological sites, and that the craft he worked on was shot down due to the hole in the side of the disc.

In some interviews, Bob Lazar has spoken about his encounters at the base with what was known as “the kids.” Bob claims that the kids were extraterrestrials which he had few encounters with. On the few occasions that they would visit Bob and his lab partner Barry, they would communicate with them about the information of the craft telepathically, according to Bob. They were eventually taught how to speak and also communicated verbally. Bob also states that the extraterrestrials had their own section of the base to conduct their research.

None of the schools and universities that Bob claims to have attended say that he attended nor do any of his past jobs or Area 51. The only proof of Bob Lazar ever existing is in one document from Area 51 of an employee list with his name on it. He claims the government is attempting to erase his existence to prevent him from being viewed as a credible source on extraterrestrial activity.
